I published the essay “I Sold My Soul to Rock and Roll” in the Seal Press anthology Colonize This: Young Women of Color on Today’s Feminism. The essay explored my lifelong love of rock and roll as a black woman and what it means to complicate and expand definitions of black femininity, identity, and feminism.
